One of the best things about the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” movies (and no, we’re not too old to fangirl over them, and we never will be) is the fact that all four of the girls are best friends in real life. Blake Lively, Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, and Alexis Bledel treat us intermittently to reunions captured on Instagram that are promptly gushed over, but their most recent moment together—all of them minus Alexis, that is—on New Year’s was the exact definition of friendship goals.
After all, the last time these ladies shared a screen together for the series was in 2008—nine years ago—and the first installment of the Sisterhood came out all the way back in 2005. Since then they’ve acted in different movies, gotten married, and had kids. And all the while, they’ve managed to not only stay connected, but stay this close in their incredibly hectic lives.
Blake and Amber rang in 2017 together with a low-key night curled up on the sofa (the best way to spend New Year’s with best friends, in our opinion).
And then they FaceTimed America to include her in the fun. Blake captioned the moment: “This year has taught us a lot. But it’s reminded us to practice something we’ve always known… “Love your pals. Love yourself”. 💖😊💖Happy 2017🎉”
America added her own caption to the repost of Blake’s with another declaration of sisterhood—and a nod to the missing Alexis. “Together for the new year come hell or highwater. #HermanasdelosPantalones👖 #facetime #2017 #missingAlexis😢”
Happy new year to the sisterhood! We’re hoping for more reunions in 2017—and maybe finally some more details about that possible third movie, too.
